Haryana to develop new tourism circuit

surajkundInaugurating the fortnight-long Surajkund Crafts Mela at Surajkund on Delhi – Haryana border, Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister, Haryana, said that the state government would develop a new tourism circuit connecting heritage sites in Karnal – Narnaul – Mahendargarh in the State. He said that a mega tourism project is underway at a cost of Rs 50 crore to develop tourism infrastructure around Karna Taal in Karnal and other destinations in Narnaul and Mahendargarh. In addition, Khattar also said that ancient cultural sites like Adibadri at Kapalmochan, Yamunanagar will be developed and promoted for cultural tourism. The Chief Minister also launched a mobile application of the Surajkund Mela, and also complimented the mela for inculcating a feeling of brotherhood, love and bonding among different cultures and continents. Chhatisgarh is the theme state at the 29th Surajkund Crafts Mela. Speaking at the inauguration, Dr Raman Singh, Chief Minister of Chhatisgarh said that he was elated to see participation of artists from over 20 countries at the mela including Lebanon as Partner Nation. He further said that after a gap of 10 years, Chhattisgarh has got an opportunity to be the Theme State. Narrating the popularity of the state of Chhattisgarh, Dr Singh said that the state has been a birth place of many folk artistes and craftspersons like Tejan Bai and Jaidev Bhagel.
