Members of Iberia’s frequent flyer programme, Iberia Plus, will see their status retained in 2021 and through until March 2022.

The airline says that “To compensate for the reduction in trips due to Covid, Iberia will maintain its current levels for holders of the Iberia Plus program, even if they do not have enough points.”

The airline is also making it easier to earn enough points to move up levels by doubling the amount of Elite Points on flights from now until March 31, 2021, the date that each year, members’ status is reviewed. This applies to all flights made with Iberia, Vueling and British Airways up to that date.

In March the airline relaxed the conditions of its Iberia Plus program for the 2019-2020 financial year, which it says allowed more than 60 per cent of members to maintain or improve their level. It has also launched promotions to encourage flying.

Iberia Plus offers up to quadruple Elite Points on July and August flights

Iberia is also a member of the One Business loyalty programme for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and this will also become more flexible this year: clients of the On3 level – the highest in the program – will maintain their status during 2020 and 2021 and, for clients of the On1 and On2, the travel expense required to pass the level has been reduced to 50 percent.
