Qatar Airways Hosts Discovery Pop-Up Event in Los Angeles

Recently Qatar Airways took over The Grove and giving Los Angeles travelers a preview of the airline’s five-star service to celebrate its upcoming service to LAX on January 1, 2016. The three-day event entitled “Discover Qatar Airways” will showcase the airline’s amenities and culture by offering delicious Middle Eastern food tastings, an award-winning Business Class seat experience, creative children’s activities, musical entertainment from around the world, and the chance to win Qatar Airways Business and Economy Class tickets.

“We are thrilled to begin flights between Los Angeles and Doha on New Years Day,” said Mr. Gunter Saurwein, Qatar Airways Vice President of the Americas. “Qatar Airways gives its passengers the freedom to explore an entire world of cultural sights, sounds and tastes. The “Discover Qatar Airways” event will highlight the airline’s diverse network of 152 destinations around the world through cultural displays and musical performances. The weekend will kick off with a VIP reception on Friday, where guests will be treated to a special performance by Judith Hill, a stand-out contestant on the popular network television program, “The Voice”. Then on Saturday, visitors can browse fashion displays, taste local cuisine, and listen to musical performances including vibrant African and Bollywood dancing routines, and vocal performances. Meanwhile on Sunday, children can enjoy creative arts & crafts experiences at the Kids’ Club, featuring henna art, mosaic box crafting, a coloring wall and Instagram-ready photo booth.

In addition to launching a daily service between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Doha’s Hamad International Airport (DOH) on January 1st, 2016, Qatar Airways will be opening new U.S. gateways in Boston on March 16th and Atlanta on June 1st, 2016. The airline plans to host similar pre-launch events, each tailored to the unique atmosphere of those cities.
