Singapore is to remove the requirement for fully vaccinated travellers to undertake a pre-departure test before arriving in the country.

The move takes effect from 0001 Singapore time on April 26 and applies to all fully vaccinated travellers arriving by land, air or sea checkpoints, as well as non-fully vaccinated children aged 12 and under.

It follows the recent removal of requirements for fully vaccinated visitors to test on arrival and means that all vaccinated travellers can now enter Singapore quarantine-free and without undertaking any tests.

Currently non-fully vaccinated short-term visitors over the age of 12 are generally not allowed to enter Singapore, with some exceptions including those travelling for compassionate reasons and those not able to have the vaccine.

Those who do qualify for an exemption will continue to be required to take a pre-departure test, complete a seven-day at-home quarantine period, and take a PCR test at the end of this period.

Commenting on the news Michael Rodriguez, area director Northern and Southwestern Europe at Singapore Tourism Board, said:

“Following the successful launch of the Vaccinated Travel Framework earlier this month and with the removal of pre-departure testing requirements, we are excited to welcome fully vaccinated travellers back to experience a reimagined Singapore.

“Our Ministry of Health has continued to monitor the local and global Covid-19 situation and has taken a measured approach to gradually easing restrictions to allow for safe travel.

“We have so much to share with visitors this year including the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix, Singapore Food Festival, and Gardens by the Bay’s 10th anniversary.”
