The SuperStar Virgo was back in Hong Kong for Star Cruises on March 22, with 2,200 passengers aboard as part of her latest deployment, with calls in Taiwan, the Philippines and Hong Kong, part of the company’s “Jewel of the South China Sea” deployment program, a six-day/five-night itinerary with triple homeports.“The SuperStar Virgo’s new deployment not only paves the way for her homecoming in a city that has been an important base for her previously but also demonstrates Star Cruises’ support for the Asia Cruise Cooperation (ACC), an alliance between Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Philippines, Hainan and Xiamen, marked by the ship’s triple homeport between Hong Kong, Kaohsiung and the cruise line’s inaugural deployment to Manila,” said Star Cruises.

A special ceremony was held onboard SuperStar Virgo and attended by Ang Moo Lim, President of Star Cruises; Anthony Lau, Executive Director of Hong Kong Tourism Board; Dr.Wayne Liu, Deputy Director of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, the Honourable Maria Corazon Jorda-Apo, Director – Market Development Group, Philippine Department of Tourism, invited dignitaries, executives from Genting Hong Kong, and the media.

“We are truly delighted to have SuperStar Virgo back in Hong Kong again to continue our long and fruitful relationship with the city,” said Moo Lim.According to Star, the “Jewels of the South China Sea” itinerary also reinforces the company’s commitment to the Asia Cruise Cooperation to promote maximum growth in cruise tourism for its member destinations and for Asia.
