Praveen Chugh will continue to lead Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) as its President for another term. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Federation held in Delhi today decided in favour of continuation of the existing leadership for another term. Pradeep Lulla, Aditi Bhende and Jayesh Tharani thus continue as Vice President, General Secretary and Treasurer, of TAFI.

Speaking after the AGM, Chugh said that TAFI will continue to pursue its unfinished agenda on GST, Transaction Fee, etc. with the government. He said that the priority before TAFI and its leadership is to help and support membership conduct their business at minimal cost of operations. He said that the digital market place developed by TAFI – TAFI Connect – is a major step towards that. The platform will enable TAFI membership to react to the enquiries from customers instantly and efficiently. He said that the platform is ready with leading suppliers and vendors joining it. With TAFI Connect, Chugh said that its members will be able to reach out to newer markets and clients whom he was not able to service because of lack of information about products and rates.

According to him TAFI will continue to pursue the case of Transaction Fee with the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) and airline operators. He said that although transaction fee has been legalised by the court, none of the international carriers has so far implemented it saying that it will increase their workload. MoCA has to interfere to make airlines comply with it, he said.
