Travellers entering Singapore from selected countries may serve their stay-home notices (SHN) at home, instead of dedicated facilities, from June 18.
From June 18, all travellers entering Singapore will be tested for Covid-19 before the end of their 14-day Stay-Home-Notice (SHN).
Officials say this is an added precaution to detect the virus, especially in cases that have no symptoms.
“Each person under SHN will receive information on the scheduled appointment slot and venue via an SMS notification.”
Those who have remained in Australia, Brunei, Darussalam, Hong Kong, Japan, Macao, Mainland China, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam in the last consecutive 14 days prior to their entry will no longer have to serve their SHN at dedicated SHN facilities.
All other travellers entering Singapore will continue to serve their 14-day SHN at dedicated SHN facilities.
The statement said, “All persons under SHN must remain in their place of residence at all times. They will be subject to close monitoring of their whereabouts, through electronic monitoring as well as physical spot-checks. Strict enforcement action will be taken against those who breach the requirements of the SHN.”
The statement also said, “As Singapore reopen borders to more international travel, those who enter Singapore would have to bear the costs of fulfilling these requirements, as part of the cost of travel in a COVID-19 world.”
- From June 17, 2020, 2359 hours, all inbound and outbound travellers who enter or leave Singapore will be required to pay for their COVID-19 tests, where applicable.
- From 17 June 2020, 2359 hours, all incoming travellers who are not Singapore citizens or Permanent Residents will be required to pay for their stay at dedicated SHN facilities, where applicable.
Since March 21, all incoming travellers, including Singapore citizens, permanent residents and long term pass holders have been required to serve a 14-day SHN.
This Friday, Singapore enters phase 2 and is all set to take another major step towards a Covid-Safe Singapore.
Singapore plans to re-open the economy, most businesses and activities in Singapore will resume on 19 June, such as retail stores, food and beverage dine-in, sports, parks and other public facilities, small gatherings of up to five people among others.
