GVK Lounge at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport’s (CSIA), Terminal 2, built and operated by Travel Food Services (TFS) and Performa, has received the accolade of becoming Asia’s Leading Airport Lounge at the World Travel Awards 2015, making India proud at such a global scale event which stands for ultimate hallmark of quality and excellence. The lounge has been further nominated for the ‘World’s Best Lounge’ in World Travel Awards to be held in Morocco.
The 22nd edition of World Travel Awards was held in Hong Kong, with more than 500,000 unique votes cast by travel professionals and high-end tourism consumers this year which led to GVK Lounge emerging as Asia’s leading Airport Lounge. Several heavyweight international nominees like Cathay Pacific’s ‘The Wing’ First Class Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport; the Japan Airlines First Class Lounge; the Korean Air KAL Lounge at Incheon International Airport; the Malaysian Airlines Golden Lounge; the Singapore Airlines Silver Kris Lounge; and the Thai Airways Royal First Lounge at Suvarnabhumi Airport posed a tough competition.
GVK Lounge is the first airport lounge to have made luxury accessible to First class and business class travellers. From excellent concierge services to a world-class spa and more, the lounge is elegant both in its ambience and amenities. The interiors boast of world-class designs with a distinctive Indian touch that creates a comfortable, enchanting environment that leaves a lasting impression.
It was designed by the acclaimed fashion designer Sandeep Khosla and Mumbai architect Alfaz Miller based on a concept from Softroom Architects. Spread across an area of 30,000 sq. ft. across two levels, the GVK Lounge is located in Terminal 2 was inaugurated in November last year.
The lounge has a state-of-the-art seating capacity of 440 spread over lounge seating area, bar seating and dining area with live kitchen having international menu options. With a diverse spread, the 24×7 food counters are available at the passenger’s service. GVK Lounge also provides passengers updated information on the Airport Flight information screens located in the Lounge.
GVK Lounge’s recognition as Asia’s Leading Airport Lounge at the World Travel Awards adds yet another feather to the array of awards already accomplished.
