Malaysia Airlines has brought back its Bonus Side Trip promotion for customers booking flights from the UK to Asia and Australasia.
The offer allows passengers to include a stop in one of seven Malaysian destinations, with the carrier picking up the return domestic air fare from Kuala Lumpur – customers must pay the taxes, fees and charges incurred.
The promotion is valid for new bookings made until December 31, 2022, for travel until March 31, 2023 between the UK and Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan and Korea.
Customers can choose from a stop off in Penang, Langkawi, Johor Bahru, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Bharu, Alor Setar and Kuantan. More details on all seven destinations (provided by Malaysia Airlines), can be seen below.

Malaysia reopened its borders on April 1 this year, and the country’s flag carrier is set to move to a double-daily service on its London-Kuala Lumpur route from June 30.

“A traveller heading to Sydney, for example, will now be able to add a beach holiday stopover to Langkawi as part of the trip for a very small fee. We look forward to showcasing our world-class on-board offering, signature local flavours, and our inimitable Malaysian Hospitality as we welcome our travellers to Malaysia’s domestic getaway destinations and beyond.”
To be entitled for the Bonus Side Trip, passengers must book a long-haul flight with Malaysia Airlines departing from India to one of the following destinations: Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Bangkok, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and the United Kingdom.
