Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI) has announced its second Mega Convention at Indonesia’s premier resort destination, Bali, between March 17 and 21, 2016. The Convention will be held at Pan Pacific Nirwana Hotel Bali. While first three days of the convention will be dedicated to deliberations and business sessions, the remaining two days will be spent on post-convention familiarization trips.
Announcing the convention at a curtain-raiser in Delhi, Guldeep Singh Sahani, President, OTOAI and the Convention Chairman, Riaz Munshi said that they are expecting around 300 delegates to attend the convention. The theme of the convention would be ‘India Outbound – the Game Changer.’ Explaining the theme, Sahani said that despite all adversities, India outbound continued to grow year-on-year.
In order to make the convention more engaging for its members, OTOAI will be organizing B2B Table top meetings, where they expect the participation of at least 25 companies. Sahani said that the intention has always been to show results to destinations which host conventions. There has been marked growth in terms of Indian visitors to the Philippines since the association held its first convention last year in Manila, he stated.
Bali despite its immense strength as a tourism destination, hasn’t been able to lure Indian tourists in a big way so far, said Munshi. The convention will, therefore, open up opportunities for the destination, he said.
The conference delegates would fly in on a combination of airlines ranging from the official partners Malindo and Malaysia Airlines from Delhi and Mumbai and Singapore Airlines from other Indian cities.
