Goa has reopened its doors for domestic travel.

Visitors travelling by road can access the Dodamarg, Patradevi, Keri, Mollem and Polem routes; Madgaon, Thivim and Vasco da Gama stations are available for those using rail transport and Dabolim Airport for air travel.

Goa’s tourism ministry has issued certain guidelines to ensure safe and hygienic travel. Pre-booking accommodation before entering the state is mandatory. Hospitality establishments that have received approval to recommence operations include Goa Marriott Resort and Spa; Hotel Vivanta; The Leela Goa; Taj Fort Aguada Resort and Spa, Goa and ITC Grand Goa Resort and Spa.

For the purpose of contact tracing, tourists will have to fill a self-declaration form that will be available at the pre-booked accommodation unit.

Quarantine upon arrival in Goa is not required. However, tourists need to carry a Covid-19 negative certificate issued in the last 48 hours (in this case, no extra test is needed in Goa) or get tested in Goa at the state entry point.

Test fees can be paid online or at the state entry point. Guests need to stay in isolation until the results come. In the case of a positive result, they will be put in an institutional quarantine.

Travellers are required to go to the tourism kiosk at respective entry points. All tourists will undergo thermal screening followed by mandatory document checking by the designated authority.

Dr Pramod Sawant, chief minister of Goa said, “Goa is reopening for tourists. Tourism is one of the biggest industries in the state and is the backbone of our economy. In this unlock phase, we are kick-starting our economy again by keeping the highest health safety norms in place in view of Covid-19.”
