There was a time when travel was defined largely by the destination. Paris, Dubai, Athens, Switzerland or Seychelles could, in themselves, sell
a journey. An itinerary was built around landmarks, hotels and flights, while success was measured by how much a traveller could see.

That model is changing. The stories in this issue reflect a
travel industry moving beyond the simple business of getting people from one place to another. The destination remains central, but the
experience around it is becoming equally important. Hotels, airlines, food, culture, connectivity and travel protection together shape how a journey is remembered.

The journey itself increasingly matters for the modern traveller. Rhodes: Where Business Meets Discovery TAFI’s 40th Anniversary Convention in Rhodes, Greece, from October 4 to 7, captures this shift. More than 400 Indian travel professionals are gathering under the theme “Connecting Legacies, Crafting Futures”, combining business meetings, networking, destination discovery and engagement with Greek tourism suppliers.
