Shinta Mani Hotels is set to unveil its highly anticipated private island retreat, JATI, on April 1st. The luxurious resort, located off the southern coast of Cambodia, offers a unique fusion of Khmer-inspired luxury and the tranquility of island living, catering to those seeking a rejuvenating escape.

JATI joins the prestigious portfolio of HMD Asia, known for its multi-award-winning properties such as Shinta Mani Resorts in Cambodia, as well as the boutique heritage properties La Residence Phou Vao in Luang Prabang and La Residence D’Angkor in Siem Reap. The opening of JATI marks a significant milestone as the brand’s first beach resort.

“We are excited to introduce HMD Asia’s first beach resort. JATI offers guests the opportunity to experience the unspoilt beauty of Southern Cambodia’s beaches, combined with a vibrant Khmer-inspired private island experience that includes exceptional dining, leisure activities, and a world-class spa,” said Anthony Lark, Executive Director of HMD Asia.

An Idyllic Island Escape

Nestled on the serene Koh Russey (Bamboo Island) in Cambodia’s pristine Koh Rong archipelago, JATI is accessible by a 10-minute speedboat ride from the resort’s private pier at Ream Beach, near Sihanoukville. The retreat’s name, derived from the Sanskrit word for rebirth, reflects its mission to offer guests a transformative, peaceful getaway amidst nature’s beauty.

The resort features 82 villas, each designed with a distinct Cambodian island vibe. Guests can choose from one-and-two-bedroom villas, some of which come with private pools, and all offer access to beachfronts or lush tropical gardens. The relaxed atmosphere and understated luxury promise a serene environment, perfect for unwinding and recharging.

Recreation, Wellness, and Dining

JATI’s recreational offerings will be rolled out in phases, with a range of activities for all ages and interests. The resort will feature a racquet and sports club with facilities for tennis, pickleball, basketball, mini-golf, badminton, Thai boxing, and water sports such as paddleboarding and kayaking. There are also island trails for leisurely strolls or bike rides.

The Bamboo Spa & Gym offers an array of Khmer-inspired treatments for relaxation and rejuvenation, complemented by state-of-the-art equipment for fitness enthusiasts.

Dining will be another highlight of the resort, with a diverse range of options catering to various tastes. Guests can indulge in lazy breakfasts featuring both international and traditional Khmer fare at the Arun beach café, or enjoy exotic cocktails at the Banyan Lounge beneath the shade of a banyan tree. The Beach Club provides a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy freshly prepared local seafood and evening BBQs as guests watch the sunset over the sea.

JATI will also cater to families with the soon-to-open Seahorse Kids Club, offering beach adventures and games for children, while parents enjoy guilt-free relaxation. Baby-sitting services will also be available for added convenience. Additionally, the resort will soon feature a 300 sqm thatched-roof Events & Conference Centre, ideal for barefoot weddings or corporate gatherings.

JATI promises to be a luxurious haven that blends Cambodian culture, island bliss, and world-class hospitality, making it one of Asia’s most anticipated new resort openings of the year.
