From nostalgic concerts to floral wonders, Singapore’s 60th birthday party is lighting up the gateway to the nation.

Singapore turns 60 in 2025—and Changi Airport is rolling out the red carpet for a birthday celebration like no other. From July through August, both Changi Airport and Jewel Changi will transform into a spectacular showcase of music, light, heritage, and community spirit.

Whether you’re a returning Singaporean or an international traveller making a stopover, you’re invited to join the festivities. Expect glowing light installations, live performances under the Rain Vortex, floral exhibitions in full bloom, and uniquely Singaporean treats and experiences that pay tribute to the Lion City’s past, present, and future.

Here are eight unmissable highlights from the SG60 celebration at Changi and Jewel:

1. Homecoming in Harmony: SG60 Concert at Jewel (1 August 2025)

Under the twinkling canopy of Jewel’s Rain Vortex, Singapore’s musical icons Stefanie Sun and Kit Chan will take centre stage in the SG60 Homecoming Concert—a powerful night of music and memory.

Joining them are a star-studded lineup of local favourites including SezairiRegina Song, Mandopop duo The Freshman, and party band Supersonic. The concert is free, but tickets are required and will be released via Changi Airport’s official social media channels in early July.

2. Walk for Good at the SG60 Charity Walk (27 July 2025)

Set against a glowing trail through the Changi Park Connector Network, this sunset charity walk is more than just a scenic stroll—it’s a meaningful journey. Participants will enjoy nostalgic snacks, photo spots, trivia stations, and a grand finish at Terminal 4’s Finisher Carnival.

All proceeds will go to Community Chest’s programmes for children with special needs and youth at risk. Each finisher receives a commemorative medallion and a surprise Buddy or Mr Merlion mini-plush. Early bird registration is open until 30 June 2025, and the event race pack includes vouchers, a T-shirt, and more.

3. A Drive Through Singapore’s Landmarks – Airport Boulevard Light-Up (From 28 July)

Airport Boulevard will shine like never before, featuring illuminated icons such as the Changi Control Tower, Gardens by the Bay, and the Singapore Flyer.

The luminous showcase ends beneath a red-and-white arch symbolising Singapore’s 60-year journey—an unforgettable drive-through experience of national pride and storytelling through light.

4. Floral Wonders Across the Terminals and Jewel

From 21 July, Changi becomes a floral paradise.

  • At Terminal 3, a towering orchid sculpture honours Vanda Miss Joaquim, Singapore’s national flower.
  • Terminal 2 showcases a six-metre Merlion topiary, composed of 60 species of blooms.
  • In Jewel’s Forest Valley, over 1,200 orchids—like the Renanthera Bangkok Beauty and Dendrobium Shavin White—will bloom in a sea of red and white. Look out for the Dendrobium Jewel Changi Airport, a special hybrid created for Jewel’s 5th anniversary.

Across the terminals, floral sculptures of local snacks like curry puffs and gem biscuits add a whimsical, homegrown twist.

5. Rain Vortex Tribute: Light & Music Showcase (1–31 August 2025)

The nightly Light & Music Showcase in Jewel takes a patriotic turn in August. A stirring rendition of “Home” by Kit Chan will accompany projections of Singapore icons on the cascading Rain Vortex.

This emotional tribute runs nightly and is a must-see for residents and travellers alike—proof that even an airport can tug at the heartstrings.

6. Cool Down with the Changi Control Tower Popsicle

Local ice cream brand Creamier brings a chill to the SG60 celebration with a series of limited-edition popsicles shaped like the Changi Control Tower.

Flavours include Bandung, Milo Chocolate, Coconut, and a floral white tea blend inspired by Changi’s signature scent. Pick one up at Creamier outlets or vending machines across Jewel, and enjoy the perfect photo moment with your frozen treat in front of the Rain Vortex.

7. Changi Experience Studio: Play More, Pay Less

From now until 30 September 2025, Singapore residents can enjoy a 6-for-$60 promotion at the Changi Experience Studio. This immersive attraction offers a behind-the-scenes look at airport life through gamified exhibits, digital storytelling, and a brand-new section on in-flight food innovation launching 1 August.

Seniors aged 60 and above enjoy special $6 tickets, making this a great multigenerational outing.

8. Jewel’s SG60 Shopping and Dining Fiesta (25 July–31 August)

With more than 60 stores participating, Jewel’s SG60 shopping and dining campaign offers limited-time deals, 1-for-1 Canopy Park attractions, and rewards galore.

Spend $150 and get bonus rewards points or even $10 Jewel Gift Vouchers with UOB cards. It’s a celebration that’s equal parts retail therapy and national tribute.

A Birthday Party Like No Other

From glowing tributes and lush blooms to nostalgic tunes and heartfelt causes, Changi Airport’s SG60 celebrations are more than a national milestone—they’re a spirited homecoming for every Singaporean and a captivating gateway for visitors.

So whether you’re landing, departing, or just passing through, Changi invites you to celebrate Singapore at 60—with open skies, open hearts, and unforgettable moments.
