IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of InterContinental Mumbai Goregaon in partnership with Zon Hotels (Mumbai) Private Limited, marking another significant milestone in the hospitality giant’s expansion strategy in India. Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2030, the luxury hotel will enhance IHG’s premium portfolio in one of India’s most dynamic hospitality markets while catering to growing demand from business travellers, event organisers and affluent leisure guests.

IHG Expands Luxury Presence in India’s Financial Capital

Global hospitality company IHG Hotels & Resorts has further strengthened its long-term commitment to India with the signing of InterContinental Mumbai Goregaon, a landmark luxury hotel development that is expected to become one of the most prominent hospitality destinations in Mumbai’s western corridor.

The new property, being developed under a management agreement with Zon Hotels (Mumbai) Private Limited, will bring the globally recognised InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand to Goregaon, one of Mumbai’s fastest-growing commercial and residential districts.

Scheduled to welcome guests in early 2030, the hotel will feature 350 elegantly designed guestrooms, including 70 luxury suites, offering a blend of contemporary comfort, world-class amenities and globally inspired hospitality.

The signing reflects IHG’s continued focus on expanding its luxury and lifestyle portfolio across key gateway cities in India, where rising business travel, growing international arrivals and increasing demand for premium hospitality experiences continue to drive market growth.

Strategic Location in Mumbai’s Emerging Commercial Hub

Located in Goregaon, between the established business districts of Andheri and Malad, the hotel is expected to benefit from excellent connectivity to major commercial centres, corporate offices, entertainment destinations and transport infrastructure.

The area has emerged as a significant economic hub in recent years, attracting multinational corporations, technology firms, media companies and residential developments. Its proximity to major highways, business parks and Mumbai’s airports makes it a preferred location for both corporate and leisure travellers.

Industry analysts note that the western suburbs of Mumbai have witnessed strong growth in hospitality demand, creating opportunities for internationally branded luxury hotels that can serve both domestic and international guests.

A New Benchmark for Luxury Hospitality

Designed to meet the evolving expectations of modern luxury travellers, InterContinental Mumbai Goregaon will offer an extensive range of hospitality experiences.

Guests will have access to five distinctive dining venues, including specialty restaurants, an all-day dining outlet, a sophisticated bar and a stylish lobby lounge. The property is also expected to feature premium wellness and recreational facilities, including a luxury spa, fitness centre and swimming pool.

One of the defining features of the hotel will be its extensive meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) infrastructure. The development will house one of Mumbai’s largest ballrooms, positioning it as a major destination for corporate events, international conferences, social gatherings and high-profile weddings.

Additional facilities will include retail spaces, ample parking capacity and a range of premium guest services designed to support both short-term and extended-stay visitors.

Commenting on the signing, Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, highlighted Mumbai’s importance within the company’s growth strategy.

“We are delighted to partner with Zon Hotels (Mumbai) Private Limited to bring InterContinental Mumbai Goregaon to the city. Mumbai continues to demonstrate strong demand across both business and leisure travel, and Goregaon’s emergence as a growing commercial corridor makes it an ideal location to expand our luxury portfolio,” said Jain.

India Remains a Strategic Growth Market for IHG

India continues to be one of IHG’s most important growth markets globally.

The company currently operates 52 hotels across seven brands in the country, including Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza, voco Hotels, Holiday Inn Resort and Holiday Inn Express.

IHG also maintains a robust pipeline of 98 hotels expected to open across India over the next three to five years, reflecting strong investor confidence in the country’s hospitality sector.

The signing of InterContinental Mumbai Goregaon further demonstrates the company’s confidence in India’s long-term tourism and business travel growth prospects, while reinforcing Mumbai’s position as a leading gateway city for international commerce, meetings, events and luxury travel.
