Accor has announced the appointment of Evan Harrington as Cluster General Manager for Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island and Pullman Hotels and Resorts Al Marjan Island, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion on this emerging UAE destination.
In his expanded role, Harrington will oversee the overall performance of both resorts, driving commercial strategy, enhancing guest experiences, and fostering operational synergies across revenue, food and beverage, wellness, sustainability, and brand initiatives.
This leadership appointment comes as Al Marjan Island continues to cement its reputation as one of the UAE’s most sought-after tourism hubs. Accor remains at the forefront of the island’s growth, offering diverse hospitality experiences that cater to domestic and international travellers—from family-friendly resorts to couples-focused stays and elevated culinary offerings.
Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island is widely recognised as a preferred resort in Ras Al Khaimah, celebrated for its Swiss-inspired hospitality, beachfront leisure, and dynamic culinary experiences. Meanwhile, Pullman Hotels and Resorts Al Marjan Island is reopening after the first phase of refurbishment, with renewed focus on couples, experience-driven travellers, and vibrant dining concepts.
“Leading two distinctive brands in one destination is an incredible opportunity,” said Harrington. “Our focus is simple: delivering memorable guest experiences, empowering our Heartists, and translating strategy into measurable results—commercially, operationally, and sustainably—so both resorts set the benchmark for Ras Al Khaimah.”
Jonathan Sheard, Senior Vice President Operations, Premium, Midscale & Economy Division, Middle East, Africa & Türkiye at Accor, added: “Al Marjan Island is rapidly emerging as one of the UAE’s iconic destinations. Mövenpick has long set the standard for Swiss-inspired hospitality appealing to families and leisure travellers, while Pullman will offer refreshed experiences for couples, explorers, and food enthusiasts. With Evan’s leadership, we are confident this cluster will elevate both performance and the destination’s global appeal.”
Harrington brings nearly two decades of multi-brand leadership across the Middle East and Africa, including senior roles with Pullman, Hilton Garden Inn, DoubleTree by Hilton, Radisson Collection, Fairmont, and Hilton. Known for fostering high-performing teams and elevating guest experiences, he will focus on unifying commercial planning, revenue management, and signature experiences across rooms, dining, wellness, and family-leisure offerings.
Additionally, Harrington will prioritise talent development, ESG initiatives—including waste reduction, local sourcing, and community engagement—and strategic partnerships to position Al Marjan Island as a must-visit Northern Emirates destination.
