Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort names Michael Parker as General Manager, bringing extensive global experience and a focus on luxury and wellness.

Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort, part of global hospitality group Minor Hotels, has announced the appointment of Michael Parker as its new General Manager.

Michael brings over 20 years of leadership experience in luxury hospitality, having held senior roles in the UK, China, Cambodia, and the Maldives. He joined Minor Hotels in 2023 as Complex General Manager of three Maldivian resorts – Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort, Anantara Veli Maldives Resort, and Naladhu Private Island Maldives – where he led a USD 50 million transformation project that elevated operations and guest satisfaction. His achievements earned him the title of ‘General Manager of the Year – Asia award’ at the 2025 Minor Awards of Excellence.

At Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort, Michael will guide the next chapter of the property’s growth, reinforcing its position as a destination for immersive luxury and holistic wellness. A key priority will be a comprehensive renovation of the resort’s food and beverage outlets, including Sala Lakorn, Spice Market, and Brio, which will be reimagined to deliver a vibrant culinary experience in one of Bangkok’s few urban resorts.

Michael is also committed to enhancing the Anantara Wellness programme, expanding bespoke journeys that blend traditional rituals with advanced medical therapies. From tailored detox plans and elevated fitness regimens to rejuvenating medical spa treatments, the programme aims to empower guests to achieve balance, vitality, and long-term well-being.

Nicholas Smith, Vice President of Operations for Asia at Minor Hotels, said: “Michael has proven himself to be a dynamic and inspiring leader, with an exceptional ability to bring out the best in his teams and deliver meaningful results. His success in the Maldives and deep international experience make him the ideal candidate to lead one of our flagship properties in Bangkok. We are confident that under his leadership, Anantara Riverside will continue to set new benchmarks for excellence in urban resort hospitality.”

Commenting on his new role, Michael Parker added: “It is a privilege to lead Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort. This property holds a special place in Bangkok’s hospitality landscape, and I look forward to working alongside the talented team to continue crafting transformative experiences and building on the resort’s legacy of excellence.”

Nestled on 11 acres of tropical gardens along the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort offers guests a blend of cultural immersion and luxury, providing distinctive hospitality experiences in the heart of Thailand’s capital.
