The Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) and BRANDit joined forces in a groundbreaking move to bolster Azerbaijan’s visibility and appeal in the Indian travel market. The collaboration was unveiled during a press conference held in Mumbai, marking a pivotal moment in Azerbaijan’s tourism strategy.

Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, revealed staggering statistics indicating a significant surge in Indian tourist arrivals. Sengstschmid announced, “We have welcomed over 90,000 travelers from India in the first five months of this year alone, a remarkable 2.7-fold increase compared to 2023. This surge underscores the growing interest and appreciation for Azerbaijan’s diverse offerings among Indian leisure travelers.”

Lubaina Sheerazi, CEO of BRANDit, emphasized the pressing need for strategic product development and targeted marketing efforts to educate both trade partners and consumers about Azerbaijan’s attractions. Sheerazi stressed, “Our focus will be on showcasing the myriad destinations and experiences Azerbaijan has to offer, while also encouraging longer stays and immersive itineraries tailored to the preferences of Indian travelers.”

Highlighting the collaborative approach, Sheerazi added, “We are committed to engaging with all segments of the Indian market, including Tier II cities, to ensure comprehensive coverage and capture every aspect of Azerbaijan’s appeal.”

As part of their concerted efforts, the partners are currently conducting roadshows across key Indian cities, including Bangalore, Pune, and Kolkata. These initiatives aim to facilitate meaningful interactions between Azerbaijani stakeholders and Indian travel trade professionals through pre-scheduled B2B meetings. Looking ahead, participation in trade shows and educational trips are on the agenda to further strengthen ties and promote Azerbaijan as a preferred destination for Indian travelers.

The partnership between the Azerbaijan Tourism Board and BRANDit marks a significant step forward in Azerbaijan’s quest to become a top-choice destination for Indian travelers, cementing a promising future of collaboration and growth in the tourism sector.
