MICHELIN unveiled the third edition of its prestigious MICHELIN Guide Dubai at a grand event hosted at the newly inaugurated One&Only One Za’abeel. The ceremony was marked by the announcement that Row on 45 had joined the ranks of esteemed eateries in Dubai to be awarded two MICHELIN Stars, bringing the city’s total to four such restaurants.

This year’s MICHELIN Guide for Dubai lists 106 restaurants, a significant increase of 53.6% from the initial count of 69 in 2022. The list grew from 90 in 2023, reflecting the rapid growth and diversity of Dubai’s culinary offerings. This expansion is the result of thorough assessments by MICHELIN’s renowned anonymous inspectors.

In the 2024 guide, Dubai boasts four two-starred and 15 one-starred restaurants, with four new entries gaining one star. Additionally, the city now hosts 18 Bib Gourmand and three MICHELIN Green Star restaurants.

Indian cuisine is making a prominent impact, with 11 concept-dining spots featured in the guide. New to the Bib Gourmand category this year is Revelry, a tapas bar that builds on the successful framework laid by Trèsind Studio and avatāra—both retaining their stars from previous years. Chef Himanshu Saini’s Trèsind Studio and chef Rahul Rana’s avatāra continue to draw accolades, while Indya by Vineet remains a staple in the Bib Gourmand section.

Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), said: “We proudly celebrate the third edition of the MICHELIN Guide Dubai, reflecting on our journey from its debut in 2022, to celebrating the expansive list of selections this year. We extend our congratulations to all the restaurants recognized, as well as the restaurateurs, chefs and other talent involved in their respective successes. Dubai’s culinary scene continues to be a key pillar of the wider offerings that are making it one of the best cities to visit, live and work in, with diverse gastronomic offerings catering to all tastes and budgets for our visitors and residents.”

Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of The MICHELIN Guides, said: “Dubai is now truly recognized as an international gastronomic destination and its impressive development continues year on year. Its appeal isn’t just with international travellers or local gourmets; talented chefs and restaurateurs from around the world are now also attracted by its vibrant dining scene and arrive keen to make their own mark in the city. With so many different styles of restaurant and types of cuisine, there really is something for everyone.”

The guide showcases 35 diverse cuisines across the listed eateries, underscoring Dubai’s evolution as a leading global culinary destination, home to over 13,000 dining venues. This rich diversity caters to nearly 200 nationalities residing in the emirate. Dubai’s thriving food scene is further highlighted by its high restaurant density, ranking second globally, and its consistent recognition as a top city for food enthusiasts.

Dubai’s prominence in the global gastronomy scene is also recognized through various accolades, including its top ranking as a global destination for three consecutive years at the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards 2024, and its vibrant annual Dubai Food Festival, which celebrated its 11th edition this year.

Since the early 1900s, the MICHELIN Guide has been a benchmark in the culinary world, anonymously reviewing restaurants through its unique star system, along with the Bib Gourmand and MICHELIN Green Star awards, introduced in 2020 to honor sustainable practices in gastronomy.

The continual growth in Dubai’s dining scene mirrors the broader success of its tourism industry, with 2023 bringing a record-breaking 17.15 million international visitors. From January to May this year, Dubai hosted 8.12 million overnight visitors, showing a 10% increase from the previous year.
