A delegation from the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), including President Rajiv Mehra, Vice President Ravi Gosain, and Honorary Secretary Sanjay Razdan, paid a courtesy visit to Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the newly appointed Cabinet Minister of Tourism for the Government of India. The IATO members extended their congratulations to the minister on his new role.

Minister Shekhawat was highly receptive during the meeting, expressing a keen interest in understanding the factors contributing to the decline in international tourist arrivals. He assured the delegation of the Ministry of Tourism’s full support in efforts to boost inbound tourism to India.

Future Plans Discussed

The IATO plans to hold a detailed follow-up meeting with the Tourism Minister to address the various challenges faced by the tourism industry, particularly those affecting inbound travel. The association aims to propose ideas on how the Ministry of Tourism and other government bodies can better support the industry.

“Under the dynamic leadership of the new minister, we are confident that inbound tourism to India will flourish,” said Mehra. “We look forward to significant growth in international tourist arrivals, aligning with the vision of our Honorable Prime Minister to attract more foreign tourists to India. IATO is committed to supporting the government and the ministry in achieving this goal.”
