ITA Airways is making waves at the 2025 Borsa Internazionale del Turismo (BIT) in Milan, showcasing its expanded offerings for the upcoming travel seasons. For the third consecutive year, the airline has a prominent presence at the event, located in Pavilion 9, where it highlights its growing network and partnerships, as well as its plans for the 2025 Summer and 2025-2026 Winter seasons.
The airline’s 2025 Summer season will see ITA Airways flying to 59 destinations, including 16 domestic, 27 international, and 16 intercontinental routes. A major highlight for the peak summer period is the addition of 12 seasonal destinations, including popular Mediterranean spots in Greece, Spain, and Italy. These seasonal routes will be accessible from Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate, with new destinations such as Rhodes, Ibiza, and Menorca.
Additionally, the airline will launch a new route connecting Rome Fiumicino with Mauritius, starting on November 7, 2025. The flight will be operated with an Airbus A330neo, offering two weekly services on Fridays and Sundays, departing Rome at 10:00 PM local time, and returning from Mauritius on Saturdays and Mondays at 10:10 PM local time.
Sandro Pappalardo, Chairman of ITA Airways, expressed excitement about the airline’s growing presence, particularly after joining the Lufthansa Group. “This year’s participation at BIT reflects our commitment to offering high-quality connectivity for Italian citizens while promoting regional development and strengthening international ties,” Pappalardo said.
A key addition to the airline’s winter operations will be the resumption of night flights between Rome Fiumicino and Tel Aviv Ben Gurion, starting February 16, 2025. The night service will operate daily, complementing the already resumed daytime flights. The night flights will depart Rome at 10:50 PM and arrive in Tel Aviv at 3:10 AM the next day, with the return leg leaving Tel Aviv at 5:15 AM and arriving in Rome at 8:05 AM.
In addition to expanding its network, ITA Airways is set to introduce a new Milan Linate to Munich route on March 20, 2025. The route will operate with two daily frequencies on weekdays, with a single morning and afternoon flight on weekends.
ITA Airways’ participation at BIT also emphasizes the growing synergy with the Lufthansa Group. Notably, ITA Airways’ Volare loyalty program will now allow its 2.7 million members to earn and redeem miles across Lufthansa Group carriers such as SWISS, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines. Meanwhile, Lufthansa Group’s 36 million Miles&More members can earn and redeem points on ITA Airways flights. To further strengthen this partnership, from March 1 to April 15, 2025, Volare members will earn bonus miles on their first flights with Lufthansa Group airlines.
The upcoming IATA Summer Season in 2025 will also bring several benefits for ITA Airways passengers, including access to 130 Lufthansa Group lounges, harmonized flight schedules at major European hubs, and new codeshare agreements that expand ITA Airways’ reach to over 250 destinations worldwide.
With these exciting developments, ITA Airways continues to solidify its position as a key player in the global aviation market, ensuring enhanced connectivity and premium services for travelers.
