JW Marriott opens its second Maldives resort, featuring 80 private pool villas, diverse dining, an overwater spa, wellness activities, and family-friendly experiences, emphasizing luxury and sustainability.

JW Marriott has announced the opening of its second resort in the Maldives, the JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll Island Resort. Strategically situated in Kaafu Atoll’s largest lagoon, the resort is a mere 15-minute boat ride from Velana International Airport, offering guests both convenience and a secluded retreat.

The resort features 80 meticulously designed private pool villas, with 47 of these elegantly perched overwater. Each villa seamlessly blends traditional Maldivian aesthetics with modern luxury, providing expansive terraces and uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean. The Three-Bedroom Ocean Residence stands out as a premier accommodation, offering panoramic ocean vistas and ample space tailored for families or groups seeking an exclusive experience.

Culinary enthusiasts will appreciate the resort’s seven distinct dining venues and bars, each offering a unique gastronomic journey. From international flavors at Veyo to premium cuts at the signature steakhouse, Athiri, guests are treated to a diverse array of dining experiences. The resort also emphasizes sustainability by sourcing fresh ingredients from its own JW Garden, ensuring a farm-to-table experience that highlights local produce.

Wellness is a cornerstone of the resort’s offerings. The overwater Spa by JW provides exclusive treatments featuring BABOR’s precision skincare products, a first in the Maldives. Guests can also participate in sunrise yoga sessions, utilize a state-of-the-art fitness center with ocean views, and enjoy various marine activities, including snorkeling, diving, and tailored ocean excursions.

For families, the resort’s Family by JW program offers thoughtfully curated experiences designed to create lasting memories. With a dedicated Kids’ and Teens’ Club, a colorful playground, and a child-friendly swimming pool, younger guests are ensured engaging and enriching activities throughout their stay.

In line with its commitment to environmental stewardship, the resort has partnered with INVENA to introduce a pioneering 30-meter-long underwater coastal structure. This innovative installation aims to attenuate wave action and combat beach erosion while fostering vibrant marine ecosystems by creating a reef habitat that attracts diverse fish and coral species. Guests have the unique opportunity to engage with this project, contributing to broader scientific efforts addressing climate challenges.

Bruce Rohr, Vice President & Global Brand Leader of JW Marriott, remarked, “JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll Island embodies our dedication to blending unparalleled luxury with holistic well-being, offering guests a peaceful escape where every detail is designed to inspire balance and rejuvenation.” General Manager Srikanth Devarapalli added, “Our goal is to provide guests with a true sanctuary, where luxury and well-being converge.”

The opening of JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll Island Resort not only enhances the brand’s presence in the Maldives but also sets a new benchmark for luxury hospitality in the region, seamlessly integrating mindful design, exceptional service, and a profound respect for the natural environment.
