The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) has entered into a strategic partnership with Shinhan Bank India, Korean Air, and Yatra to promote South Korea as a preferred destination for Indian travellers. The collaboration, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on 22 August 2025, brings together tourism promotion, financial solutions, and exclusive travel privileges under the banner “Gateway to Korea.”

The initiative is designed to deliver an integrated travel experience, combining curated holiday packages with financial incentives and enhanced airline services. Campaigns will run across major Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Surat, Jaipur, Pune, and Kolkata, supported by targeted digital outreach.

As part of the programme:

  • Yatra will curate exclusive holiday packages showcasing both leisure and industrial tourism.
  • Shinhan Bank India will roll out a customised savings product with travel-linked benefits for Korea-bound customers.
  • Korean Air will extend privileges such as Incheon Airport lounge access and promotional offers.
  • KTO will lead the overall campaign, aligning it with its vision of positioning Korea as a leading global travel destination.

Mr. Myong Kil Yun, Regional Director – India & SAARC Countries, KTO, emphasised the importance of the collaboration:
“This partnership underscores our commitment to the Indian market. By combining financial, travel, and tourism benefits, we aim to offer Indian travellers not just memorable experiences, but also greater value and accessibility.”

Echoing this sentiment, Mr. Manish Amin, Co-Founder & CIO, Yatra Online Ltd., added:
“South Korea offers a rare blend of tradition and modernity. Through this initiative, we will curate experiences that go beyond conventional holidays, opening new opportunities for Indian travellers to discover both the cultural richness and industrial dynamism of the country.”

By integrating tourism promotion with financial and airline-led benefits, the Gateway to Korea initiative marks a significant step in strengthening South Korea’s appeal in India and making the destination more accessible, engaging, and rewarding.
