Neemrana Hotels is expanding its heritage revival portfolio with the restoration of Baruasagar Fort in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, and Raja Rani Mahal in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh. Both properties are slated to open as experiential hotels by 2027 and 2028 respectively.
Baruasagar Fort, overlooking the lake and Bundelkhand plains, will feature 25 guest rooms, dining spaces, a spa, pool, and cultural areas. Originally built by the Bundela kings in the 18th century, its restoration will honour the fort’s association with Rani Lakshmibai and the 1857 uprising.
In Chanderi, the 15th-century Raja Rani Mahal will be transformed into a boutique stay with 10- 12 rooms. Set amidst Chanderi’s rich textile legacy, the palace’s striking medieval architecture will house local experiences, cuisine, and artisan collaborations.
Neemrana’s partnerships with the Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh governments reinforce its mission to preserve historic sites while supporting local livelihoods through sustainable heritage tourism.
