Oceania Cruises will make a historic debut in March 2026 when its 670-guest vessel, Insignia, becomes the first ultra-premium cruise ship to sail from Port Tampa Bay, Florida. This move marks a significant milestone for the cruise line, as it also introduces a new series of winter sailings to the Caribbean and Panama Canal, all departing from Tampa.
Frank A. Del Rio, president of Oceania Cruises, highlighted the significance of this expansion, stating, “Port Tampa Bay represents an exciting new chapter as we become the first ultra-premium cruise line to operate dedicated voyages from Tampa. This development opens up a convenient gateway to Florida’s west coast and the Gulf of Mexico.”
Del Rio noted that Tampa’s cosmopolitan vibe, akin to that of Miami, makes it a fitting addition to the cruise line’s portfolio, reflecting the diverse mix of international influences and cultures.
Port Tampa Bay president and CEO Paul Anderson expressed enthusiasm for the new partnership, stating, “The arrival of Insignia is a major milestone that enhances Tampa’s reputation as a premier cruise destination. We are eager to welcome new guests to our city, and the increased tourism will bring substantial economic benefits to the region, workers, and local businesses.”
The itineraries for Insignia will range from seven to 20 nights and include stops at Caribbean destinations such as St. Thomas, St. Kitts, and Tortola, as well as Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Belize City. Passengers will also experience a daylight transit of the Panama Canal and an overnight stay in Panama City. These voyages will be easily accessible with 41 non-stop flights from Tampa International Airport.
Tampa’s vibrant culinary scene, which features street food, high-end dining from Michelin Guide restaurants, and immersive culinary tours, complements Oceania Cruises’ reputation as a gourmet cruise line.
Onboard, Insignia will offer Oceania’s signature blend of relaxed luxury and refined elegance. The ship, accommodating 670 guests with a dedicated crew of 400, will feature gourmet specialty restaurants such as Polo Grill and Toscana. Additional amenities include Aquamar Spa + Vitality Center, a sports deck with putting greens and shuffleboard, a top-deck library,
