Saudia, Saudi Arabia’s national flag carrier, is significantly expanding its international network by adding over ten new destinations for 2025. The newly introduced routes will include popular cities such as Vienna (Austria), Venice (Italy), Larnaca (Cyprus), Athens and Heraklion (Greece), Nice (France), Malaga (Spain), Bali (Indonesia), Antalya (Turkey), El Alamein (Egypt), and Salalah (Oman), further enhancing Saudia’s global connectivity.
This strategic expansion comes as Saudia experiences a surge in international travel demand, with the airline reporting a 16% increase in international passenger numbers last year. The new routes are part of the airline’s broader strategy to strengthen its connections between Saudi Arabia and key global markets, meeting the rising demand for air travel.
H.E. Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, commented on the growth, saying, “Following a year of strong operational success, our 2025 expansion plan aims to meet increased travel demand and enhance connectivity. Each new destination has been selected based on in-depth market analysis to align with passenger needs and support Saudi Arabia’s tourism and economic goals.”
Saudia currently operates a fleet of 147 Boeing and Airbus aircraft, with plans to add 118 new aircraft in the coming years as part of its ambitious growth strategy. The airline operates over 530 flights per day, reinforcing its position as a key player in the region’s aviation landscape and enhancing its global presence.
