The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) has announced Abu Dhabi as the host city for its 68th Convention-cum-Exhibition, scheduled to take place from September 17–19, 2025, at the Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi. The much-anticipated event is set to welcome more than 350 delegates from across the travel and tourism industry.
This marks a homecoming for TAAI, which last held its convention in Abu Dhabi in 2016. The return underscores the emirate’s growing importance as a premier destination for Indian travelers and a vital partner for the Indian outbound market.
Speaking at a press briefing in New Delhi on August 11, Sunil Kumar, President of TAAI, said:
“Much has changed in Abu Dhabi since our last convention there. A number of new products and experiences such as teamLab have been introduced, and we want our members to experience these firsthand. Hosting our convention in Abu Dhabi will not only strengthen ties but also further enhance Indian visitor arrivals to the destination.”
Theme: Business with Goodness
The 2025 convention will be held under the banner “Business with Goodness”, emphasizing tourism’s role as a promoter of peace and cross-cultural understanding. The program will feature knowledge sessions on industry insights, innovation, and emerging travel trends, alongside immersive experiences showcasing Abu Dhabi’s diverse offerings.
Delegates will have the opportunity to explore a curated selection of attractions, including the BAPS Hindu Temple, Qasr Al Watan Palace, teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Emirates Palace, and other cultural and leisure landmarks.
“This convention will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange while giving our members an immersive introduction to Abu Dhabi’s cultural, leisure, and business attractions. The India Travel Trade Expo, held alongside the convention, will open up valuable networking opportunities and create strong visibility for exhibitors,” Kumar added.
Supporting Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Vision 2030
The convention is closely aligned with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi)’s Tourism Strategy 2030, which aims to attract 39.3 million visitors annually by the end of the decade. TAAI’s presence is expected to reinforce Abu Dhabi’s positioning as a preferred destination for Indian travelers, one of its fastest-growing source markets.
