The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) advises that heightened security measures are now in effect across seven provinces along the Thailand–Cambodia border—Ubon Ratchathani, Si Sa Ket, Surin, Buri Ram, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat—due to ongoing security incidents. Martial law remains enforced in designated districts.
As part of the updated measures, Phanom Rung Historical Park and Prasat Mueang Tam in Buri Ram have been closed until further notice, in addition to previously restricted attractions in affected areas.
Thai Airways International (THAI) has adjusted operations on its Bangkok–Phnom Penh route between 27 and 31 July 2025: TG586 and TG587 will run with larger aircraft, while TG584 and TG585 are cancelled. Meanwhile, rail services between Aranyaprathet and the Ban Khlong Luek border station in Sa Kaeo have been suspended indefinitely. Travellers with plans near the border are advised to check transport schedules and revise itineraries as needed.
Affected areas include all border crossing points in the listed provinces, nearby tourist attractions and national parks, as well as surrounding communities and lookout points. Entry and exit at designated checkpoints is strictly prohibited. Travel along border-adjacent roads should be avoided, and tourists are strongly advised not to visit viewpoints or observation areas near the frontier. All visitors and residents in affected zones are urged to comply fully with the local authorities and military personnel.
General Travel Situation in Thailand
The rest of Thailand continues to operate as normal. Domestic and international services—including air, bus, ferry, and rail (except the suspended section in Sa Kaeo)—are running as usual. Popular destinations such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Samui, Krabi, Pattaya, and Ayutthaya remain unaffected and continue to welcome visitors. Travellers are advised to follow official updates and plan accordingly.
