Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of its flagship Wyndham brand in Singapore with the 591-key Peninsula Excelsior Singapore, a Wyndham Hotel. The hotel is slated to celebrate its soft opening in July 2023, and marks Wyndham’s commitment to continued growth in the country.
The introduction of Peninsula Excelsior Singapore, a Wyndham Hotel, comes at a time when bleisure travel continues to grow across the region, coupled with the recovery of Singapore’s growing tourism industry which is expected to reach between 12 to 14 million international visitors and $14 billion. In addition to capitalising on this booming region and standing out as a quality, upscale offering, this flagship hotel reinforces Wyndham’s presence in the country and indicates the Company’s commitment to expansion in the city state. Looking ahead, Wyndham will double down on its focus to further establish a larger presence with its distinctive, upscale, midscale, lifestyle, and value brands in the country.
Commenting on the significance of the Singapore market, Matt Holmes, Vice President of Business Development South East Asia & the Pacific Rim, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts said, “Being a major hub and gateway city to the rest of South East Asia and the world, Singapore plays a significant part in Wyndham’s regional growth strategy and its intention to fulfill its commitment of providing guests with best-in-class accommodation options across the region. This opening further illustrates our growth momentum in the region and builds upon our strong pipeline of recent signings and openings. We will continue to pursue suitable conversion opportunities in strategic markets across Asia Pacific.”
Peninsula Excelsior Singapore, a Wyndham Hotel, features an impressive range of facilities such as a fitness centre, sauna, two swimming pools, executive lounge for club floor guests and four multi-functional rooms to meet the needs of both leisure and corporate travellers. The hotel will benefit from Wyndham’s wider distribution systems and connection to approximately 100 million Wyndham Rewards members globally. Additionally, the property will gain access to Wyndham’s commercial and operational expertise and unlock potential in revenue growth through Wyndham’s extensive network of preferred partnerships, affiliations, and distribution channels across Asia Pacific.
Combining the hotel’s heritage with the Wyndham brand, the hotel will officially launch as Wyndham Singapore in early 2024 following a multi-million-dollar refurbishment. In line with Wyndham’s brand promise, guests will be delighted with fresh interpretations of upscale hospitality where they can relax in beautiful lounge areas, recharge in smartly detailed and spacious guest rooms and conduct their business meetings in well-designed meeting spaces complete with top-tier technology.
