As India’s hospitality sector races to meet the surging demand from domestic and international travelers alike, one brand is scripting a particularly ambitious growth story—Clarks Safari. In just a few years, the homegrown chain has evolved from a modest opening in Ranthambore to a robust national presence, and now, it’s setting its sights even higher: a 1,000-key expansion by the end of FY 2025–26, a premium resort brand in the works, and an IPO on the horizon.

From the Wild to the World

Clarks Safari opened its first doors in 2022 with a property in Ranthambore, a location synonymous with India’s wildlife tourism. The choice was symbolic—a nod to the brand’s ethos of responsible, immersive travel, rooted in nature and community. Since then, Clarks Safari has grown exponentially, now operating 1,516 keys across states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Assam, and Uttarakhand.

This rapid rise has been fueled by a dual-pronged strategy of revenue-sharing and management contracts, allowing the group to scale efficiently while maintaining control over service quality and brand standards. Their model appears to be paying off: FY 2024–25 saw a 50% surge in revenue, following an even more impressive 56.25% year-on-year increase the previous year.

A New Chapter in Luxury

While its initial focus was on midscale travelers, Clarks Safari is now making an assertive move into the luxury market with its newly launched Clarks Resorts brand. The flagship property in Ajmer is a showcase of design and innovation, featuring the brand’s signature Globe Rooms—immersive architectural experiences that offer a striking alternative to conventional resort accommodations.

“These rooms are more than just a place to sleep—they’re an experience in themselves,” said a spokesperson from the company. “We wanted to reimagine what luxury can feel like in a setting that’s grounded in locality, design, and emotion.”

Upcoming Clarks Resorts are in the pipeline for Pushkar, Jaipur, and Aurangabad—each intended to strengthen the brand’s foothold in India’s fast-growing boutique and heritage travel segments.

The IPO Horizon

To support its aggressive expansion, Clarks Safari is preparing for a significant financial milestone: an IPO. Plans are underway to list on SME and broader capital markets, a move that would not only strengthen the company’s balance sheet but also open the doors to a wider investor base.

According to insiders, the IPO is more than just a financial strategy—it’s a signal to the market that Clarks Safari is ready to compete on a national, and potentially global, scale. The funds raised will be directed toward new property development, technology upgrades, and further diversification of the brand portfolio.

Growth with a Conscience

Unlike many fast-growing hospitality ventures, Clarks Safari has made social and environmental responsibility a central part of its identity. The company supports community-based development projects, sustainable operations, and employee welfare programs across all its properties. It’s a philosophy the brand refers to as “responsible growth”—a reminder that expansion need not come at the expense of ethics or ecology.

“We’ve always believed that hospitality is about more than buildings and bookings,” said the company’s leadership in a recent statement. “It’s about people, places, and purpose.”

From ensuring that local artisans and farmers benefit economically, to reducing water and energy footprints at each of its locations, Clarks Safari is positioning itself as a leader in conscious travel—a growing demand among India’s urban, educated traveler base.

A Brand to Watch

With a growing number of travelers seeking meaningful, localized, and high-quality hospitality experiences, Clarks Safari appears to be hitting the right notes at the right time. Its hybrid model—bridging accessibility with aspiration, scale with sustainability—makes it one of the most intriguing hospitality stories to follow in the coming years.

As it readies for public listing and prepares to plant more flags across India’s landscape, Clarks Safari isn’t just building hotels—it’s crafting a movement rooted in experience, elegance, and ethics.
