India’s hospitality sector continues to witness strong growth momentum as Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) announced the signing of a new Gateway hotel in Gurugram, further strengthening its footprint in the National Capital Region (NCR). The upcoming property, located in Sector 83, New Gurugram, will be developed as a greenfield project under IHCL’s fast-growing Gateway brand portfolio.

The signing reflects the sustained expansion of Gurugram as one of India’s most important commercial and business destinations, driven by increasing investments across corporate, IT/ITeS, financial services, and infrastructure sectors. The project also aligns with IHCL’s broader strategy of expanding its presence in emerging urban micro-markets with strong hospitality demand.

According to Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development at IHCL, Gurugram’s rapid transformation into a major business and lifestyle hub continues to create robust demand for quality branded hospitality offerings.

She noted that the signing in New Gurugram enables the company to tap into a fast-evolving market that is increasingly attracting both corporate and leisure travellers. The company is partnering with developers Vijay Gupta and Amit Gupta for the project.

The upcoming hotel will feature 220 rooms and suites designed to cater to modern business and leisure travellers. Planned amenities include an all-day dining restaurant, specialty restaurant, bar, swimming pool, and a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

The property is also expected to emerge as a significant venue for meetings, conferences, weddings, and social events. A large banquet facility spanning approximately 7,000 square feet, along with dedicated pre-function and meeting spaces, will position the hotel as an attractive destination for corporate and social gatherings in the region.

Orris Group, the development partner for the project, highlighted that the collaboration with IHCL is expected to contribute significantly to the growth of New Gurugram’s commercial and social ecosystem. The development is envisioned as an integrated hospitality destination that combines premium accommodation with modern urban convenience.

The Gateway brand, positioned within IHCL’s upscale hospitality segment, has been steadily expanding across India, targeting key business cities, leisure destinations, and emerging urban centres. The Gurugram signing further reinforces IHCL’s aggressive expansion strategy across northern India.

With the addition of this property, IHCL’s portfolio in Haryana will grow to 15 hotels, including six currently under development. Across India and international markets, IHCL continues to strengthen its leadership position with an expanding portfolio spanning luxury, upscale, and midscale hospitality segments.

Founded by Jamsetji Tata, IHCL today operates some of India’s most recognised hospitality brands, including Taj, SeleQtions, Vivanta, Gateway, and Ginger.

The Gurugram hospitality market has witnessed increasing investor and developer interest in recent years, supported by infrastructure upgrades, improved connectivity, and the continued rise of mixed-use commercial developments across the NCR region.

For IHCL, the latest signing underscores the company’s confidence in India’s long-term travel and hospitality growth story, particularly in strategically important urban centres such as Gurugram.
