Anneke Brown to step down as Managing Director; Natasha Monks appointed Acting Managing Director

Tourism Western Australia (Tourism WA) has announced that Managing Director Anneke Brown will leave the agency on 2 July 2026, concluding an 18-month tenure during which she helped strengthen the State’s tourism recovery and industry engagement.

Since joining in late 2024, Brown has focused on enhancing stakeholder relationships, supporting hospitality and hotel development, and driving Western Australia’s tourism performance as the sector continued its post-pandemic recovery.

Tourism WA reaffirmed its commitment to growing Western Australia’s profile as a leading international tourism destination while continuing to encourage domestic travel across the State.

From 6 July 2026Natasha Monks, currently Chief Executive Officer of the Great Southern Development Commission, will assume the role of Acting Managing Director. Monks brings extensive leadership experience, having previously served as Western Australia’s Invest and Trade Commissioner for the Americas and as a Trade and Investment Commissioner with Austrade.

A national recruitment process will begin shortly to appoint a permanent Managing Director.

The Tourism WA Board and the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport (CITS) thanked Anneke Brown for her valuable contribution to Western Australia’s tourism sector and reaffirmed the agency’s focus on supporting the industry’s long-term growth and success.
