Additional Boeing 787 service increases the airline’s India-London connectivity for the winter season
British Airways has expanded its Delhi-London Heathrow schedule to three daily flights, adding capacity on one of its key India-UK routes as the airline continues to strengthen its presence in the Indian market.
According to the airline’s announcement, the third daily service arrived in Delhi at 6:00 am on September 20, 2026. The additional flight is being operated using British Airways’ Boeing 787 fleet.
The expanded schedule is set to take British Airways’ India-London Heathrow operation to up to 70 flights per week during the winter season, representing a reported 25% increase over the corresponding period last year.
British Airways already serves five Indian cities — Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai — with direct services to London Heathrow. The airline’s current India information confirms up to 70 flights a week from the UK to India, subject to operational changes.
Greater choice for Delhi travellers
The additional Delhi service is intended to provide passengers with greater flexibility in planning journeys between India and the UK, while also offering onward connections through Heathrow to destinations across Europe, North America and other international markets.
British Airways has positioned London Heathrow as its principal hub, with services from the airport connecting passengers to more than 115 destinations from Terminal 5 and additional destinations from Terminal 3.
“India is one of British Airways’ most important markets, and the arrival of our third daily Delhi service reflects our continued confidence in the region,” said Lisa Tremble, Chief Customer and People Officer, British Airways, according to the airline’s announcement.
“This additional flight gives our customers greater choice and flexibility while strengthening the connections that support trade, tourism, education and cultural ties between India and the UK. We are proud to be expanding our presence in India and investing in the routes, people and services that matter most to our customers,” she added.
India remains a key British Airways market
British Airways has maintained a long-standing presence in India and marked 100 years of flying to the country in 2024. The carrier also celebrated 80 years of operations to Delhi in 2025.
The airline currently promotes direct London services to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad, with its India network providing connections into the wider British Airways network from Heathrow.
British Airways says passengers travelling from its Indian gateways can connect onward from London to destinations across Europe as well as the US and Canada. Its India-focused corporate information currently highlights connections to more than 190 destinations in North America.
The airline is also offering special fares from Delhi to London in conjunction with the additional capacity, according to the announcement.
Strengthening India-UK connectivity
The increase in Delhi frequency comes as British Airways continues to position India as an important component of its international network. The carrier’s five-city India operation provides year-round links with London Heathrow, supporting business, leisure, visiting-friends-and-relatives and other travel segments.
The additional Delhi frequency also expands options for passengers using Heathrow as a connecting hub, reinforcing the airport’s role in British Airways’ global network.
