The greenfield development in Gomti Nagar will feature multiple dining venues, wellness facilities and more than 8,000 sq. ft. of banqueting space, strengthening IHCL’s presence in Uttar Pradesh.

Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has signed an agreement to develop a new Gateway hotel in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, expanding its portfolio in one of North India’s key commercial and administrative centres.

The 215-room property will be developed as a greenfield project in Gomti Nagar in partnership with Kripanidhi Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. The signing reflects continued hospitality investment in Lucknow, where infrastructure development and expanding business activity are contributing to demand from corporate and leisure travellers.

According to IHCL, the planned hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a speciality restaurant and a bar. Leisure and wellness amenities will include a spa, gym and swimming pool.

The property is also being designed to accommodate meetings, conferences and social functions. It will offer more than 8,000 sq. ft. of banqueting space, supported by pre-function areas and conference facilities, positioning it to serve both business events and private celebrations.

Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development at IHCL, said Lucknow’s infrastructure development and growing business activity made it an important market for the hospitality group. She added that the signing would strengthen IHCL’s presence in one of North India’s key commercial and administrative centres.

Varun Gavri, Director of Kripanidhi Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., said the partnership would bring the Gateway brand to Lucknow, with the hotel expected to address the evolving requirements of travellers through its location and IHCL’s hospitality expertise.

Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, combines administrative and commercial importance with a distinctive cultural heritage, celebrated architecture and culinary traditions. Gomti Nagar has emerged as a prominent urban district, making it a strategic location for a hotel catering to business visitors, event organisers and leisure guests.

With the addition of Gateway Lucknow to its portfolio, IHCL’s presence in Uttar Pradesh will comprise 64 hotels, including 27 in the development pipeline, according to the company’s announcement. The project forms part of the group’s broader expansion across established urban centres and emerging hospitality markets in India.

IHCL has not announced an opening date or disclosed the project’s investment value.
