Air India announces partial restoration of its international schedule from August 2025, following its Safety Pause, with frequency reinstatements and network changes across Europe, Asia, North America, and Australia.

Air India announces partial restoration of international schedule from 1 August 2025, following its operational “Safety Pause” initiated after the tragic AI171 incident on 12 June. This strategic measure enabled the airline to conduct precautionary inspections on its Boeing 787 fleet and adjust operations in response to ongoing airspace closures in Pakistan and parts of the Middle East. The airline now embarks on a phased return to full operational capacity by 1 October 2025.

The partial resumption involves the reinstatement of frequencies on several high-demand international routes and the launch of a new Heathrow service. However, some routes remain temporarily reduced or suspended as the network transitions to normalcy. Air India has committed to proactively notifying impacted passengers, offering rebooking or full refunds.
