Akasa Air, rooted in the values of inclusivity and empathy, has consistently aimed to provide a unified travel experience for all passengers since its establishment. Collaborating with Xavier’s Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged (XRCVC), the airline has taken strides to enhance accessibility for individuals with visual impairments. Through the development of Braille versions for both the in-flight safety manual and dining menu, Akasa Air ensures that customers with visual impairments can independently comprehend safety instructions and make meal selections, thus elevating their overall journey experience.
In January 2023, Akasa Air introduced its Braille in-flight safety manual, offering detailed instructions in both English and Hindi. Available upon request, the manual covers essential information such as seatbelt operation, emergency exit and life jacket locations, and includes tactile diagrams to help passengers orient themselves within the aircraft. In a subsequent initiative in October 2023, Akasa Air launched Braille menu cards for Café Akasa, its in-flight dining service. These thoughtfully designed cards allow passengers to independently explore meal choices, snacks, and beverages during their flight. Committed to the cause of inclusive and accessible air travel, Akasa Air pledges to introduce further initiatives, continuing its journey towards making air travel universally accommodating.
