In a feat that has redefined the modern fine dining landscape, Swedish chef Björn Frantzén has become the only chef in the world currently operating three Michelin three-star restaurants simultaneously—a groundbreaking achievement celebrated at the recent Michelin Guide ceremony in Dubai.

The historic third crown came with the Michelin Guide’s awarding of three stars to FZN, Frantzén’s latest venture in Dubai. Opened in October 2024, FZN achieved what few restaurants ever do—ascending to Michelin’s highest echelon in less than a year. It’s also a landmark for the region: FZN is the first restaurant in the UAE to receive three Michelin stars.

With this, Frantzén joins a category of one. His flagship Frantzén in Stockholm earned its third star in 2018, and Zén in Singapore followed in 2021. Now, with FZN, his culinary empire spans three continents—Europe, Asia, and the Middle East—united under a singular commitment to precision, creativity, and gastronomic excellence.

“There are only 152 restaurants in the world with three Michelin stars. To operate three of them at once—it’s surreal,” Frantzén said. “This isn’t just my achievement, but the result of passionate collaboration and an unwavering pursuit of perfection by every member of our team.”

A Trio of Icons:

  • Frantzén, Stockholm
The first Swedish restaurant to receive three Michelin stars. Known for its immersive, Nordic-Japanese tasting experience in a setting that’s equal parts theater and sanctuary.
  • Zén, Singapore
A sister to the Stockholm original, Zén blends Scandinavian sensibilities with Southeast Asian ingredients. It claimed its third star in 2021, just three years after opening.
  • FZN, Dubai
Frantzén’s boldest vision yet—pushing culinary boundaries in a city known for spectacle. It’s already making waves as the Middle East’s new fine dining benchmark.

The Frantzén Group: A Global Culinary Standard

More than just restaurants, the Frantzén Group is a movement in modern dining. With a total of nine Michelin stars across its properties, the group combines visionary technique with uncompromising quality—from sourcing and menu curation to service philosophy and hospitality training.

Every touchpoint—from interiors to ingredients—is designed to leave a lasting impression, whether you’re in Stockholm or soon-to-open Brasserie Astoria Marbella in Spain.
