Eligibility and requirements Flying from Singapore to a VTL country

You may select any Singapore Airlines flight out of Singapore to a VTL country. (This excludes flights into Australia and Malaysia.) 

The following countries provide quarantine and test-free entry to vaccinated travellers from Singapore: Spain, and Switzerland. 

The following countries require tests:

  • Canada: A negative pre-departure Covid-19 test result obtained within 72 hours prior to the direct flight to Canada. Antigen Rapid Tests (ART) will not be accepted. Click here for full test requirements and exemptions.
  • France: A negative pre-departure Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test result obtained 72 hours prior to the flight for unvaccinated children age 12 and above1 (based on date of birth). Children below 12 are exempt. All children will need to be accompanied by a vaccinated adult.  
  • India: Travellers must have a negative Covid-19 PCR test taken 72 hours before departure and upload the result here. Travellers younger than 5 years are exempted.
  • Italy: A pre-departure PCR test or Antigen Rapid Test (ART)2 test result obtained within 72 hours prior to the flight. 
  • Malaysia: All travellers, including infants, must present a negative pre-departure Covid-19 RT-PCR test result obtained within 2 days prior to the flight. A Covid-19 RT-PCR test is required on arrival. 
  • United Arab Emirates: Travellers must present a printed copy of a negative Covid-19 PCR test result taken within 72 hours before the departure of the direct flight to the UAE, and may be required to take an on-arrival test.
  • The UK: A post-arrival PCR test on Day 2 (requires pre-booking).
  • The USA: A negative pre-departure Covid-19 test result obtained within 72 hours prior to the flight. Tests accepted include: ART1, NAAT, RT-LAMP, RT-PCR or TMA.

The following countries may require both tests and quarantine:

  • Australia: All travellers aged 5 and above will be required to take a negative pre-departure Covid-19 test result within 72 hours prior to the flight. Unvaccinated children aged 12 – 171 entering Sydney or Melbourne will need to self-isolate upon arrival and undertake Covid-19 PCR tests. Further details on entering Australia can be found here.
  • Brunei: A pre-departure Covid-19 PCR test 48 hours prior to the flight. Upon arrival, travellers will need to self-isolate for between two to 14 days. (Travellers will also need to apply for an Entry Travel Pass.)
  • Denmark: Travellers vaccinated in Singapore are now required to isolate at their accommodation for four days upon arrival in Denmark, and will need to take a Covid-19 PCR test on the fourth day. They will be allowed to exit isolation after receiving a negative PCR test result. If they do not wish to take the PCR test on the fourth day, they will be required to isolate for 10 days.
  • Germany: All travellers are required to either upload their pre-departure Covid-19 test results or proof of vaccination or proof of recovery from Covid-19 on the entry portal within 72 hours before departure. Unvaccinated children under the age of 12 (based on date of birth) will need to undergo quarantine upon arrival, unless they obtain a negative PCR test result and meet the exemption criteria. Please note that unvaccinated children aged 12 and above1 will have to meet the same entry requirements as an unvaccinated adult traveller.
  • Indonesia: Travellers must have a printed medical certificate with a negative Covid-19 PCR test result taken within 72 hours before departure. The certificate must be in English. A PCR test is required on arrival, and travellers will have to quarantine for up to five days, with another PCR test administered at the end of quarantine. 
  • The Netherlands: Unvaccinated children aged 13 and above are not exempted from mandatory self-quarantine, even if accompanied by a parent/legal guardian who is fully vaccinated. Effective 13 November 2021, a pre-departure Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) 48 hours prior to the flight or an ART within 24 hours prior to the flight is required. Unvaccinated children 11 and below, and accompanied by a vaccinated parent/legal guardian, are exempt from the pre-departure test. Further details on the requirements for children aged 12-17 years entering the Netherlands can be found here.
  • South Korea: A negative pre-departure Covid-19 test result obtained 72 hours prior to the flight and an on-arrival PCR test is required. A further PCR test is required on day 6 or 7 after arrival if your stay is 8 days or more. Unvaccinated children aged 6 years and above may enter, but would be subjected to quarantine for 10 days. 

Customers transiting through Singapore to connect to any of the countries above will be required to complete a professionally administered Covid-19 PCR or ART test 2 days prior to departure to Singapore. 

There may also be entry restrictions by the VTL countries based on your travel history prior to departure. Please check our travel advisories to confirm. Residents of Singapore who have been in Singapore for more than 14 days are not impacted.  

You may also be required to provide a vaccination certificate upon arrival.

To facilitate verification by the relevant authorities, travellers from Singapore may use Notarise to digitally authenticate and endorse the pre-departure test and/or vaccination certificates. 

As entry requirements may change at short notice, customers are advised to check the local authorities’ websites prior to departure.
