In an effort to further strengthen its presence in India, the Hong Kong Tourism Board launches the “Hello Hong Kong” campaign

This exciting international initiative is a unique opportunity for Indian trade partners to experience all that this vibrant destination has to offer

With an aim to showcase its latest tourism experiences, reactivate travel trade between India and Hong Kong, as well as introduce the ‘Hello Hong Kong’ campaign – The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) hosted well-attended outreach MICE events in the two Indian cities that see the prime outbound traffic from India – New Delhi and Mumbai. Additionally, HKTB’s participation at India’s largest B2B Travel Exhibition, SATTE 2023 saw further success with networking sessions that opened new business opportunities for all parties involved.

HKTB took 18 Hong Kong trade partners on the 2-city MICE roadshow across India to showcase their diverse attractions and experiences. These included Cathay Pacific Airways, the iconic Disneyland Resorts & Ocean Park Hong Kong plus Ngong Ping 360 as well as key hotels and leading DMCs. The event was attended by over 140 Indian travel specialists eager to reconnect with the participating stakeholders from Hong Kong while exploring its new offerings in terms of art and culture, culinary tourism, great outdoors areas, upgraded theme parks/indoor facilities that also feature stunning views of Victoria Harbour that is flanked by Hong Kong’s impressive skyline.

In recent years, Hong Kong has come alive with incredible infrastructure connecting it to the Greater Bay Area and its range of popular tourist attractions. Not only does this provide an improved level of connectivity, but also reduces travel time for tourists that are eager to explore HK’s top attractions. Amongst these exciting developments is 11 Skies – a unique retail-dining-entertainment center that’s set to rival some of the world’s biggest hubs – as well as Kai Tak Sports Park offering global sporting experiences from wellness activities to highly competitive competitions. Elsewhere in West Kowloon District visitors can expect unrivaled culture immersion at iconic venues such as The Palace Museum, M+, Xiqu Centre Art Park, and Free Space; all ready waiting under glowing neon lights!

Puneet Kumar, Hong Kong Tourism Board’s Director of South Asia & Middle East, spoke at the occasion to reveal that Hong Kong is now fully open and inviting tourists from around the world. “To further enhance this invitation, HKTB has generously launched a global promotion with 500,000 complimentary air tickets and 1 million valued gifts – only in Hong Kong. So come and discover all that our vibrant city has to offer,” he said.

Hong Kong is preparing to offer a warm welcome for Indian travelers in 2023, with the Magical night-time show “Momentous” at Hong Kong Disneyland Resorts and other phenomenal experiences such as the all-weather Water World Ocean Park and 6th Generation Peak Tram. In addition, there will be an array of Mega events happening throughout the year – from March’s renowned Rugby Sevens tournament to Art Basel and the celebrated Clockenflap Musical Festival in November.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board recognizes India as a key incoming market with considerable opportunities in leisure travel, fly-cruise holidays, Bleisure, and MICE. Officials from HKTB say they are humbled by the outpouring of support from Indian visitors and businesses throughout the relationship the two countries share. For convenient air connectivity, Cathay Pacific Airways offers direct flights to Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru – allowing travelers easy access to all that Hong Kong has to offer.
