taiwan cyclingReflecting the growing demands of traveling abroad for sports like cycling, diving, golfing, hiking and skiing etc, a SPORT TOURISM PAVILION will be staged in ITE & MICE this year which will be held from June 13 to 16 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The Pavilion is to facilitate visitors finding information, service providers and products of sport tourism from travel agents, specialists, tourism boards, hotels and resorts etc. For easy identification, the Pavilion will have its own colour scheme, banners and posters, and an information stand with lists of all related exhibitors and seminars. With unique promotions, sport tourism will also be highlighted in ITE & MICE ads and publicity.

There were already sport tourism exhibitors in previous ITE & MICE, such as skiing in Japan, cycling in Taiwan, and destinations popular for golfing, hiking and adventures etc. The Pavilion hopes to attract even more related exhibitors.

Its two trade days drew over 12,000 visitors comprising mainly of travel agents and corporate visitors with overall 20% from mainland China and 73% from Hong Kong; and its two public days over 70,000 visitors with nearly 75% prefer travelling in individually (FIT). In its 27th edition this year, the annual ITE & MICE is among Asia’s earliest travel fairs.

“While destination remains a top concern, travelling for themes are becoming more popular and these travellers seem willing to pay more for related services”, said KS Tong, Managing Director of TKS which organizes ITE & MICE.
