IHG Hotels & Resorts is expanding its footprint in Egypt with the signing of Holiday Inn New Assiut Asayla, scheduled to open in January 2024.
The hospitality chain has signed a management agreement with Mabany Edris, a real estate owner and developer in Egypt for this project.
Once completed, this will be IHG’s third Holiday Inn hotel in Egypt, joining Holiday Inn Cairo Maadi and Holiday Inn Cairo – Citystars.
The 157-key hotel will be strategically located close to the city of Assiut along the banks of the Nile River. The hotel is also close to the city’s main cultural monuments, the faculties of Assiut University, and Sphinx University.
The property will offer well-equipped guest rooms and an expansive F&B. Other facilities include four meeting rooms (545 sqm in total), a ballroom (450 sqm), as well as a spa, a fitness centre, and a pool for guests to relax.
The announcement follows several high-profile signings this year, across IHG’s luxury and lifestyle, premium, essentials, and suites collections, highlight the brand’s robust expansion plans across the MEA region.
