TKS, organizer of Hong Kong’s only travel fair of ITE & MICE, is pleased to announce appointing the bilingual eco-tourism magazine of Hong Kong Discovery as Media Partner, and the bilingual themes travel portal of Tripwant as Online Media Partner of the Sport Tourism Pavilion which may also cover some other related theme travels.

In view of the fast growing popularity of sport and theme travel, the three parties join force, which pioneers a co-operation of online and offline, for a more effective promotion.

Accordingly, Hong Kong Discovery will invite related organizations and experts to speak in trade and public seminars and to conduct demos, to provide contents and materials for special displays and to report on exhibitors or exhibits of interest.

Tripwant will contribute to the above and invite related travel suppliers to exhibit in the Pavilion, which targets both the regulars and the niche segments. Special joint packages of exhibiting in ITE & MICE and online in Tripwant will also be offered, so benefits to exhibitors can be extended to beyond the fair ground.

Theme travels are popular with ITE & MICE visitors! In particular, surveys in last June found 23% from travel trade and 29% from public visitors interest in Sport Tourism, while 24% trade and 35% public interest in Eco-tourism.

“We welcome the co-operation, and believe it will bring more interesting travelling idea and products to our visitors”, said KS Tong, Managing Director of TKS which organizes ITE & MICE.

“We are more than happy to take part in this exciting event 3 years in a row”, said Mr Jan Chan, Founder of HK Discovery. “Sports tourism has been catching big in Hong Kong and beyond in recent years, and will continue to grow in the next decade as more and more travelers opt for more active and adventurous courses. There is a need for an interactive platform where sportive travelers can shop ideas and destinations, and sports and adventure product owners can reach potential customers.”

“Innovation and creative upheaval will be the drive for travel industry in the next generation. More concern will be on niche interest and pre-travel planning. Hence, cross platform collaboration is vital.” said Mr HK Wong, Director of Tripwant.

ITE & MICE last drew from 50 countries and regions over 600 exhibitors 85% of which from abroad; 11874 buyers and regional trade visitors with 76% from Hong Kong and 18% from mainland China especially southern China; and 78116 public visitors with 81% prefer travelling in FIT and 5% in private tours.

ITE & MICE 2016, comprising of the 30th ITE (leisure) and the 11th ITE MICE, will be held from 16 to 19, 2016 at Halls 1A to 1E at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, with first two days for trade only and require registration for admission, and the last two open to public.
