Jumeirah Group, a global leader in luxury hospitality and a member of Dubai Holding, has announced the appointment of Thomas B. Meier as its new Chief Executive Officer. This move comes at a pivotal moment for the brand as it accelerates its international expansion under its Mission 2030 strategic plan.
With a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry, Meier, who previously served as Chief Operating Officer and most recently as Interim CEO, will now lead Jumeirah into its next phase of growth. His leadership will focus on the brand’s ambitious goal to double its portfolio by 2030, with an emphasis on expanding into new international markets and further solidifying Jumeirah’s status as a global luxury hospitality leader.
“Jumeirah has always set the bar high for luxury hospitality, offering guests extraordinary experiences that celebrate culture and connection,” said Meier. “As we prepare for the opening of Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab and expand into exciting new markets, I am honored to take the helm. With bold plans in place, we will continue to innovate, exceed expectations, and strengthen Jumeirah’s position as one of the most influential hospitality brands in the world.”
Thomas Meier’s tenure at Jumeirah has already seen significant milestones, including the brand’s entry into Africa with the launch of Jumeirah Thanda Island in Tanzania and Jumeirah Thanda Safari in South Africa in 2024. He has also been instrumental in expanding the leadership team and driving forward a number of key upcoming projects.
With a distinguished career that spans several decades, Meier has led global expansion efforts for other renowned brands such as Raffles, bringing a wealth of expertise to his new role.
In line with its global growth strategy, Jumeirah has unveiled several high-profile properties in recent years, including destinations like Jumeirah Red Sea in Saudi Arabia, Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab in the UAE, and Jumeirah Le Richemond Geneva in Switzerland. The group now operates a portfolio of 30 properties across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia, and continues to seek opportunities for expansion in major gateway cities and premier resort destinations worldwide.
With Thomas B. Meier at the helm, Jumeirah is poised to continue its legacy of innovation and excellence, setting new standards in the luxury hospitality sector as it charts its course toward a remarkable future
