Luberon Tourism is setting its sights on attracting affluent Indian travelers through a series of targeted initiatives in Mumbai and Bangalore. Franck Delahaye, Director of Luberon Tourism, recently visited India to engage with the local travel trade and position Luberon as a premier luxury destination for discerning tourists.

Renowned for its stunning landscapes—rolling hills, charming hilltop villages, fragrant lavender fields, and serene olive groves—Luberon offers an idyllic and exclusive experience, perfect for those seeking a peaceful and refined getaway. Delahaye emphasized that Luberon is tailored for small, luxury groups rather than large-scale, first-time tourists who typically flock to major French cities.

With just 45 hotels, most of which are upscale, Luberon caters to niche groups, families, and couples seeking an authentic, intimate experience. The region’s appeal lies in its ability to provide a serene environment, away from the hustle and bustle of mass tourism. Delahaye noted that Luberon’s strategy is focused on attracting repeat visitors who appreciate its tranquility and authenticity—traits that set it apart from more crowded destinations.

The region is particularly attractive to Indian travelers during the spring, autumn, and early winter months, offering a mild climate and an escape from the busy peak travel seasons. With Bangalore emerging as a key market for luxury travel, Luberon Tourism has plans to further expand its outreach to Delhi as well.

This initiative is part of Luberon’s broader global strategy to target a refined, quality-driven audience, positioning the region as an exclusive and understated French escape for those seeking luxury in a less-travelled corner of the country.
