Lufthansa Group selects the new ZIM seat for its Premium Economy on Boeing 747-8i and Airbus A330 aircraft


Lufthansa Group has selected the new generation of ZIM privacy (PC-02) seats for ZIM Aircraft Seating’s Premium Economy, which will be installed on 19 Lufthansa Boeing 747-8I aircraft and 9 other Swiss Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

The award of this project to ZIM Aircraft Seating is a good sign for the future direction of commercial aviation in the extended Covid-19 crisis and indicates a recovery in-flight activities. ZIM privacy also includes a number of other amenities, such as individually adjustable armrests, cocktail tables, one-piece dining table, personal reading light and natural lighting, and wider IFE screens.

Customized ZIM privacy seats will be tailored with specifications and variants as indicated by Lufthansa and Swiss so that each airline maintains its own branding in the cabin. The new ZIM PC-02 Premium Economy product will be installed in the first quarter of 2022 on Airbus A340-300 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

ZIM privacy sets new standards for comfort and privacy in Premium Economy. The highly innovative seats are packed with high-value features to offer an enhanced customer travel experience. 

With superb mechanical movements enclosed in a fixed back shell structure, the seat includes enhanced privacy with an integrated privacy shield that creates an improved space for the traveler.

These new seats will also be fitted on Lufthansa’s upcoming Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, Airbus A350-900, and Boeing 777-9 aircraft.
