Minor Hotels, a leading hotel owner, operator, and investor with a presence in 56 countries worldwide, has announced a new ultra-private luxury resort in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Anantara Santorini Abu Dhabi Retreat, boasting 22 exclusive keys, is scheduled to open its doors in the fourth quarter of 2023, providing an unmatched boutique escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Located in the pristine enclave of Ghantoot, which lies halfway between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the Anantara Santorini promises a serene retreat with uninterrupted views of the Arabian Gulf, far removed from the towering cityscapes in either direction. The resort is conveniently accessible, just a 25-minute drive from Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport and a 35-minute drive from Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International and CEO of Minor Hotels, expressed his excitement about the resort’s launch, stating, “This will be an exciting new addition to our luxury portfolio of properties across the United Arab Emirates. With a fantastic location equidistant between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, this ultra-private property offers exceptional facilities for full buy-outs, especially those seeking an intimate boutique experience unlike anywhere else in the UAE.”

Inspired by the iconic architecture of its Greek namesake island, the Anantara Santorini features low-lying white buildings that seamlessly blend with the surrounding landscape. The resort offers a collection of ultra-private accommodations characterised by spacious interiors, sun-drenched terraces, and breathtaking sea views. The luxurious spaces exude elegance with their refined décor and soft, neutral furnishings, a theme that extends throughout the entire resort.

Guests can unwind on the resort’s private beach or take a dip in the expansive outdoor pool, which offers sweeping views of the Gulf. Movie enthusiasts can enjoy private screenings in the indoor cinema, complete with the option of late-night movies paired with custom gourmet cuisine. For those seeking relaxation, bespoke spa treatments can be enjoyed in private beachside cabanas, while 24-hour butler service ensures that guests’ every need is catered to around the clock.

Culinary experiences at the Anantara Santorini include an elegant restaurant celebrating the heritage of the region, where local ingredients and spices take centre stage. Additionally, an ocean-side restaurant will tantalise taste buds with delectable Greek delicacies. Evenings at the resort can be savoured at the bar, where an array of beverages and creative cocktails will be served until late, accompanied by a DJ creating an ambient mood.

With this eagerly anticipated opening, Minor Hotels further strengthens its presence in the Middle East. The group currently boasts eight Anantara hotels and resorts in the UAE and a total of 11 properties in the region. Globally, Minor Hotels’ portfolio comprises 26 properties spanning five different brands.
