Minor Hotels appoints Sasha Tyas as General Manager at Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas, bringing 25 years of global luxury experience.

Minor Hotels has announced the appointment of Sasha Tyas as General Manager of Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas, located in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Tyas brings more than 25 years of international luxury hospitality experience across Europe, South America, the Caribbean, Africa, and the Indian Ocean. A dual citizen of England and France, she is fluent in English, French, German, and Portuguese, adding strong cultural versatility to her leadership style.

Her career includes senior roles at properties such as Cap Juluca, a Belmond Hotel in Anguilla; Mango House Seychelles under Hilton’s LXR Hotels & Resorts; and Constance Moofushi in the Maldives. Most recently, she served as General Manager of Ilma, the 224-suite ultra-luxury yacht from The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, operating across European and Caribbean waters.

Notably, Tyas has often been the first female General Manager at the properties she has led, making her a strong advocate for advancing women in hospitality. She is known for encouraging inclusive environments that promote professional growth and ambition among female talent.

On her appointment, Sasha commented, “I am delighted to be back in the Maldives and feel especially privileged to be leading the team here at Anantara Kihavah. The beauty of the island is both spectacular and soothing; it is a place where time stands still, and you can feel a genuine connection to nature with all your senses. The jewel of the island is our team, and I am confident that we will continue to craft luxurious experiences that allow guests to connect with the destination in meaningful and memorable ways.”

Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International, the parent company of Minor Hotels, added, “Sasha’s extensive luxury hospitality experience and familiarity with the Indian Ocean make her an ideal leader for Anantara Kihavah. Her distinctive blend of operational insight and creative vision will further enhance the resort’s reputation for immersive luxury and personalised service in one of the world’s most exceptional destinations.”

Anantara Kihavah offers 80 pool villas and residences set either over water or along the beach. The resort is known for its underwater restaurant SEA, the Maldives’ only overwater observatory, and its proximity to vibrant coral reefs, manta rays, and other marine life.
