Raffles Hotels & Resorts has officially announced the opening of Raffles Jeddah, marking the luxury hospitality brand’s debut in the coastal city of Jeddah and its second property in Saudi Arabia following Raffles Makkah Palace.
Positioned along Jeddah’s iconic Corniche with panoramic views overlooking the Red Sea, the new luxury property combines contemporary architecture, regional cultural influences, wellness-led experiences, and the brand’s signature butler service, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving luxury tourism and hospitality landscape.
The opening comes amid significant investment in the Kingdom’s tourism sector under Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the economy by strengthening tourism, hospitality, entertainment, and cultural infrastructure.
Strengthening Saudi Arabia’s Luxury Hospitality Landscape
Omer Acar, Chief Executive Officer of Raffles Hotels & Resorts, described the opening as an important milestone for the luxury brand and for Accor’s growing presence within Saudi Arabia.
“Our opening in Jeddah, a dynamic coastal city on the Red Sea that has been shaped by centuries of cultural exchange, is exciting and marks an important milestone for the Raffles brand while also strengthening Accor’s presence in Saudi Arabia,” Acar said.
“With this debut, we are proud to contribute to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 ambitions and its emergence as a leading global luxury destination,” he added.
Located on the Jeddah Corniche, the hotel places guests close to several of the city’s major attractions, including Fakih Aquarium, Al Shalal Theme Park, Red Sea Mall, and Boulevard Jeddah. King Abdulaziz International Airport is located approximately 25 minutes from the property.
Architecture Inspired by Jeddah’s Maritime Heritage
The hotel’s architectural and interior design concept draws heavily from Jeddah’s maritime history and traditional Hejazi craftsmanship while integrating contemporary luxury aesthetics.
Its exterior incorporates traditional mashrabiya screens and carved wood latticework, creating a dynamic play of natural light and shadow throughout the structure. The interiors blend regional artistry with modern sophistication, featuring guestrooms and public spaces conceptualised by internationally recognised designer Robert Angell, while the wellness and spa areas were designed by Tristan Du Plessis.
Guests arrive through a dramatic golden entrance inspired by the heritage of the Raffles brand and the golden age of travel. Inside, the lobby features sculptural columns, reflective textures, and iridescent surfaces inspired by sunlight shimmering across the Red Sea.
Additional cultural references include lace-like wall motifs inspired by the ornate plasterwork found in Jeddah’s historic Al-Balad district, complemented by a curated collection of artworks by Saudi and Middle Eastern contemporary artists.
Spacious Accommodations with Red Sea Views
Raffles Jeddah features 182 guestrooms and suites, including 40 luxury suites, all offering uninterrupted views of the Red Sea.
Starting at approximately 66 square metres, the accommodations are among the largest luxury hotel rooms in the city. The interiors feature soft pastel palettes inspired by the colours of the sea and sky, accented by subtle regional motifs and curated artwork designed to reflect the property’s connection to its coastal surroundings.
Fredrik Blomqvist, General Manager of Raffles Jeddah, said the property has been designed to reflect both the identity of Jeddah and the refined service standards associated with the Raffles brand.
“Raffles Jeddah has been thoughtfully designed to celebrate the spirit of this remarkable city while delivering the elegance and highly personalised service that defines the Raffles brand. From the architecture and art to culinary and wellness experiences, every detail reflects our commitment to creating a destination that feels both locally rooted and globally sophisticated,” Blomqvist stated.
Culinary Experiences Inspired by Global and Coastal Influences
Dining forms a key component of the Raffles Jeddah guest experience, with the property introducing multiple culinary concepts designed to reflect the city’s cosmopolitan and waterfront lifestyle.
The hotel’s all-day dining venue, Surl’O, overlooks the Red Sea and combines culinary influences from East and West through shareable dishes featuring contemporary presentation and bold flavours inspired by Jeddah’s evolving gastronomic scene.
Another signature venue, Atorie Lounge & Patisserie, merges French pâtisserie techniques with Japanese precision. Offerings range from pastries infused with flavours such as plum and black sesame to matcha-inspired éclairs and a theatrical afternoon tea service presented from a bespoke tea trolley.
During evening hours, the lounge transitions into a refined social space serving creative mocktails and contemporary desserts.
The hotel also revealed plans for a third signature restaurant concept inspired by Mediterranean coastal hospitality, designed to offer a relaxed yet elevated dining atmosphere centred around exceptional cuisine and understated luxury.
Wellness and Event Facilities Target Luxury Travellers
Wellness remains central to the Raffles Jeddah experience, with the property introducing a design-led spa and wellness sanctuary focused on rejuvenation and holistic wellbeing.
The Raffles Spa and Wellness includes separate wellness facilities for men and women, featuring treatment rooms, Moroccan hammams, swimming pools, fitness centres, and a private couple’s treatment suite.
The hotel also positions itself as a premium destination for meetings, weddings, and luxury events. Facilities include six meeting rooms, a business centre, VIP lounge, and expansive pre-function areas.
Among the standout event spaces are the Pearl and Crystal Ballrooms, suspended above the plaza level with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city skyline.
Saudi Arabia Continues Expanding Luxury Tourism Offerings
The opening of Raffles Jeddah reflects Saudi Arabia’s broader tourism transformation strategy as the Kingdom accelerates investment in luxury hospitality, cultural tourism, entertainment infrastructure, and international visitor experiences.
Jeddah, in particular, has emerged as a major focus of Saudi tourism development due to its Red Sea coastline, historic heritage districts, expanding cultural scene, and strategic position as a gateway city for both leisure and religious tourism.
Industry analysts note that international luxury hotel brands are increasingly strengthening their presence in Saudi Arabia to capture rising demand from affluent domestic travellers, regional visitors, and international tourists attracted by the Kingdom’s large-scale tourism development initiatives.
With its combination of waterfront luxury, cultural storytelling, wellness experiences, and personalised hospitality, Raffles Jeddah is expected to further elevate the city’s positioning within the global luxury travel market.
