Royal Jordanian Airlines has announced the launch of new non-stop flights linking Amman, the capital of Jordan, with two major Indian cities: Mumbai and New Delhi. The Mumbai route will begin operating four times weekly starting April 17, 2025, while the New Delhi route will launch with the same frequency on September 17, 2025. These new services are part of the airline’s broader expansion strategy to increase connectivity and position Jordan as a premier tourism destination for the Indian market.
The new routes are also aligned with the “Explore Jordan” initiative, reflecting Royal Jordanian’s commitment to showcasing Jordan’s rich cultural and historical offerings to Indian travelers. The country is home to world-renowned attractions such as Petra, the Dead Sea, and the vibrant city of Amman, which blends ancient wonders with modern Arabian charm. At just a five-hour flight from India, Jordan offers a seamless escape for Indian tourists seeking both adventure and relaxation.
Karim Makhlouf, Chief Commercial Officer of Royal Jordanian Airlines, expressed his excitement about the new routes: “The launch of our new connections to Mumbai and New Delhi represents a key milestone in our strategy to promote Jordan as a must-visit tourism destination for Indian travelers. These direct flights will allow us to showcase Jordan’s unique experiences while positioning Royal Jordanian as a boutique airline that brings cultures together.”
Royal Jordanian’s new flights will operate on the airline’s modern A320neo aircraft, offering a dual-class configuration (Economy and Business), complete with advanced in-flight entertainment and Wi-Fi services. These state-of-the-art planes are designed to provide comfort and efficiency, enhancing the overall travel experience. The A320neo aircraft will ensure passengers enjoy a smooth journey to and from Jordan, with competitive fares starting at INR 19,999 for one-way tickets and INR 33,333 for return tickets.
As the hub for Royal Jordanian, Amman will serve as a gateway for Indian travelers to an expansive network of global destinations in Europe, North America, and the Middle East. With an upcoming fleet expansion that includes 19 new A320neo and Boeing 787 aircraft in 2025/26, the airline is well-positioned to continue strengthening its global connectivity.
In support of the new routes, officials from Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) expressed their enthusiasm for the partnership.
