Stelia Aerospace has launched a new business class seat design which it says is “one of the widest on the market”.
The Airbus subsidiary says the Rendez-vous seat has been designed for widebody aircraft, and is described as being “like a comfortable and vast sofa”.
Features include a fully flat bed, direct aisle access for all seats, a privacy door “turning the seat into a wide and comfortable private suite”, and a further privacy divider.
Centre seats can be combined to form a double “Honeymoon” bed, and the seat’s backrest has been integrated into the backshell.
No customers have yet to be confirmed for the seat, although reports state the firm is currently in discussions with “an Asian airline”.
The Rendez-vous design adds to Stelia’s existing seat product portfolio, including the widebody Elysium, Opal, Solsyts and Symphony seats, and the single aisle Celeste and Opera options.
Commenting on the news Thierry Kanengieser, VP Cabin Interior Stelia Aerospace, said:
“When you’re travelling far, thousands of miles from home, all you desire is to feel like you would at home,” said “With Rendez-vous, our brand new Business Class staggered seat presenting a unique sofa seating comfort, airlines can offer their passengers an outstanding travel experience with a perfect ‘at home’ feeling while flying.”
